There is no doubt that Omar Rodriguez Lopez is a talented guy, he’s a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, film director, writer and actor but his imaginative guitar work and extensive use of effects for cult band At The Drive-in and modern prog legends The Mars Volta is the real reason us pedal geeks love to get to the front of the gig to check out what’s on his pedal board. Now with alternative rock band Bosnian Rainbows, and with a slightly less elaborate pedal board he’s on the road with a less is more approach… for now.
We chat to Omar after a packed gig at Sticky Mike’s Frog bar in Brighton, he tells us about the Boss ‘Corner stones’ of his board, why he loves the Boss SL-20 slicer and saving up for a Boss DD-7 digital delay with Jeremy Ward and putting it on literally everything!
