As requested by many Roland E-X50 and E-X30 users, we have produced popular styles from West Java. These styles are suitable for use at events and ceremonies.
The Jawa Barat Styles included are as follows:
Pop Sunda Tulen: This genre of music cannot be separated from the contribution of Mang Koko, Nano S, and Doel Sumbang. Pop Sunda is one of the cultural products resulting from the creativity of Sundanese musicians. With the spirit of modernization, they are not fixated on Sundanese musical instruments alone such as Angklung, Calung, Kecapi, Suling, but collaborate with Western musical instruments.
Rampak Tarling: Tarling originally appeared in 1931 in Indramayu, at that time a Dutch commissioner asked a local resident named Mang Sakim to repair a guitar. This opportunity was used by Mang Sakim and his son named Sugra to learn guitar tones and compare them with gamelan pentatonic tones. The beauty is even more complete when the strings of the guitar are accompanied by a luscious bamboo flute.
Degung Sunda: Gamelan is one of the unique and original gamelan results of the development of the Sundanese community from the influence of Javanese Gamelan (Mataram). The development of gamelan songs with singing/vocals began to develop in 1958. In the 1970s-1980s, more and more people were working on Sundanese gamelans. Used as a medium of entertainment, and media accompaniment in traditional ceremonies such as at weddings.
Pop Jaipong: Jaipong dance developed in the Bandung and Karawang areas. This dance is a combination of a number of traditional arts, such as pencak silat, ketuk tilu, and wayang golek. The musical accompaniment used in the performance uses musical instruments which include drums, gamelans, gongs, etc.
