By connecting to BOSS Tone Central (BTC), users have immediate access to an entire portfolio of professionally crafted content including:

  • Multi-effects patches designed to replicate guitar tones from well-known songs
  • Workhorse guitar tone patches crafted by top industry session players
  • Guitar tones patches submitted by top name guitar players such as Steve Lukather, Herman Li, Marty Friedman, Steve Stevens and more

Accessible via the free BOSS Tone Studio software, BOSS Tone Central is an invaluable resource for all users of BOSS Multi-Effects or Loop Stations. In this article, we’ll explain how YOU can access BOSS Tone Central and download some artist created patches and loops to unlock the full potential of your BOSS Multi Effects processor or Loop Station.

Step 1: Download BOSS Tone Studio Software

In order to access BOSS Tone Central’s repository of artist patches and loops, you’ll need to download the BOSS Tone Studio software onto your PC or Mac.

This free software not only enables you to access BOSS Tone Central, but you’ll also have access to TONE EDITOR – an onscreen visual editor which can be used to create or alter existing multi-effects tone patches right on your computer screen.

Step 2: Downloading patches from BOSS Tone Central to your device.

Once BOSS Tone Studio is correctly installed on your computer, you are ready to connect your device and load it up with artist patches from BOSS Tone Central.

Step 3: Browsing BOSS TONE CENTRAL for content

As you have seen content, the BOSS Tone Studio software provides you access to all BOSS Tone Central. However, the dedicated website at is a very useful resource in itself. Here you are able to browse all of the available content to see which patches you may wish to download. The website enables you to read descriptions and hear demonstrations of the patches performed by the artist themselves.

Scrolling down further on the artist page will take you to a series of Soundcloud links and audio clip descriptions that offer you some previews of the downloadable patches, demonstrated by Gus G himself.

It’s a handy way for you to determine which artist patches you are most interested to check out on your device. It also allows you to listen to some of the patches available for other devices that perhaps you don’t own yet.
